God of Our Beginnings
John 1:1-5 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word gave life to everything that was created and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Jesus is the Word. He existed before the universe. Then, He made everything. Everything! His light revealed His creative power through the sun, Earth, moon, clouds, water, plants, animals, and us. God’s Word establishes Himself especially in the darkness in the work that we do not see: gravity, spirit, elements, atoms, electromagnetism, etc. He even rules the chaos. When science observes the universe they measure the seen and the unseen all-creative power of Jesus. Anything we encounter in this world, God had a part in its creation. Jesus knows who, what, where, when, how, and why of all things everywhere!
A DEEPER RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS
The Apostle John was part of Jesus’s “inner circle.” He claimed to be closest to Jesus. John writes about the deity of Jesus more than any other gospel with 90% of his gospel containing unique content. John even refers to himself as the “the one Jesus loved.” John’s close relationship with Jesus helped him see beyond the man Jesus to the revelation of God Almighty. I want that same kind of deeply personal relationship with Jesus. The Word of God establishes Jesus as God at the beginning of all things. He directly and indirectly made everything. So, I want to make our relationship predominant. I desire Jesus to be the God of all my beginnings. As 2021 started, I focused on Jesus by creating a weekly schedule of worship for a “Deeper Relationship with Jesus Christ.” This schedule includes daily disciplines including: prayer, meditation, studying God’s Word, fasting, exercise, fellowship, and fun as worship to God all day long. By intentionally working seven daily disciplines, I ensure that when I wake up, my first conscious contact is Jesus through prayer and devotion, and my day guarantees the desire to love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength, grows.
IS JESUS THE GOD OF YOUR BEGINNINGS?
How do you begin your year, your week, your day? What changes can you make to ensure that He is? When you put Jesus first in everything, you begin connecting to the faith, hope, and unconditional love from your Heavenly Father.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, You are the God at the beginning of all creation. Show me what I can do in my life to make sure that I honor, respect, and connect with You before anything or anyone else. You are the most important relationship in my life. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
