Peace that Surpasses All Understanding

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4: 6-7

There is a Peace that many people have yet to experience. This Peace produces deep calm that completely dissolves all anxiety, worry, fear, and dread. It transcends any reasoning or human understanding, because it comes directly from God. He is the God of Peace. Through sincere prayer and commitment to God, we can all experience His Peace. When God’s Peace sweeps over your spirit - you will know it! It consumes every negative thought and feeling. It provides the knowledge that no matter what happens everything will be okay! It’s a complete paradigm shift from fear to peace.

Peace in Crisis

One regular day, without warning, my twelve year old son turned an ashen gray color, and had to be rushed to the hospital. The doctor said he would need emergency heart surgery. I felt the fear and dread of every mother’s nightmare. This medical crisis devastated me, and his family. Our church began to pray, and news about my son's condition reached the Holy Ghost Radio station. Intercessory prayers for him poured from the airwaves. Hundreds and

thousands of prayers lifted into the heavens. During this time, something supernatural began to happen within me. I felt a calm enveloping my spirit in a miraculous way. I knew it was coming from the prayers of God’s people. The Peace that surpasses all understanding, as described in Phillipians 4:7, flooded my nightmare of fear and tragedy with faith and serenity. I experienced His assurance that everything would be alright. All anxiety, worry, dread, and unbelief disappeared. Now, I understand that when tragedy and crisis occur, the God of Peace will provide the strength and stillness necessary to walk through the darkest situation.

Next month, my son will be twenty-two and is doing fine!

Friend, it is only through God that we can receive such awesome benefits of Divine Peace in

this life. Psalm 29:7 says, “The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His

people with Peace.” Jesus spoke Peace to the raging sea saying, “Peace be Still,” and the wind and waves obeyed Him. He is the Lord of Peace. Will you give Him your heart today?
